They say you are what you eat, but in this case – you are what you make. Mary Young‘s lingerie is just as laid-back, awesome, and well put together as she is. You may already know Miss Mary Young, designer / entrepreneur / super-babe / one-woman show – and if you don’t know, now you know.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
My name is Mary Young and I’m an entrepreneur; designing my namesake womenswear line of lifestyle lingerie and loungewear. Outside of work you’ll catch me sipping coffee and cracking jokes with friends.
What are you working on?
Currently collecting inspiration and sketching early designs for Spring/Summer 2017, also a few potential collaborations and limited edition pieces for later this year.
Why lingerie + loungewear? Do you think you’ll expand to other items?
I actually stumbled into lingerie and loungewear during my fourth year at Ryerson University. Once I learnt the ins and outs of lingerie, I fell in love; designing and producing pieces that reflect the ease and comfort that I look for in my everyday garments. I would love to expand into other categories, possible swim and ready-to-wear.
The last thing you watched / the next thing you’ll watch:
I last watched Winning Time: Reggie Miller Vs The New York Knicks; I’m a bit of a sports fan. I’ve been meaning to watch The Martian, so hopefully that’ll be up next.
If you could do a collaboration with one person who would it be?
I would definitely say Opening Ceremony, in any capacity.
If you could see your pieces on one person who would it be?
A dream come true would be to see Beyonce wearing anything MARY YOUNG.

Your most worn / over-worn item of clothing:
Definitely my Gap motto jacket, the leather is more than slightly discoloured but it feels like butter. Not to mention it makes me feel complete even on my most chaotic days.
Donuts, definitely donuts.
Your 5 favourite places in Toronto:
I start almost everyday at Tokyo Smoke for a great Americano. On weekends I always count on El Almacen for a delicious brunch with friends. For a great dinner and atmosphere there’s Rasa on Harbord and drinks at Bar Fancy. When it’s warm and sunny there’s the Island, perfect getaway from the city without going too far. Not to mention, I love the sound of open water.
Your 5 favourite places not in Toronto:
Definitely New York for so many reasons. My hometown, Arnprior, for feeling grounded and some outdoor fun. Vancouver for fresh air and delicious seafood. My Aunts cottage in Ompah for swimming and relaxing. Lastly, the Eagles Nest trail outside of Ottawa for stunning views and a reminder of how precious life is.
